What's the Story behind Squirrel Nuts!
California is a state full of nuts so it is fitting it would attract a
great variety of squirrel genres. The squirrels are exceptionally nice
in California, and overall very playful, if you have a bit of patience
to listen to what they have to say to the human race. I happened to
come across two of the nicest (albeit sarcastic) fluffy beings a few
months ago. They were sitting under a tree, chilling when I overhead
them talking to themselves. I guess they didn't realize I studied
French and Squirrel in college. I should note that the two languages
sound the same to me, at least when I was trying to learn French.
Learning squirrel was an accident; mostly likely attributed to a loose
wire in my brain (but that is another story). I would like to introduce
you to the two main characters. Ray (who directs the series) and Danny
the writer.
In human form, they have won many Bay Area awards for their previous
productions. Ray had become so successful that he had a mental
breakdown, and was sent to a monastery deep in the woods to learn how to
relax. It was there a squirrel family befriended him, and made him an
honorary squirrel. In fact, since then every full moon, he sheds his
skin, and turns into a squirrel. He promised to depict their lives
accurately, and share their perspectives of humans so that we might
learn how to improve our society and how to respect squirrels and treat
them with dignity.
The first episode made its debut on February 4, 2020. Squirrel Nuts examined our reliance on smart phones.
Episode 2 Let Go My Nuts is the Superbowl episode. Ray and Danny provide introspection on the big Superbowl game, an odd spectacular event looking in from the outside, at least from the vantage point of a couple of squirrels.
Episode 3 it's all above love - something that is not limited to the human species.
Poor Ray, he's trying to find a home for his nuts this Valentine's Day. It is customary in every species to find one's special mate - someone to share nuts with this season of love! If you are single, he might be your guy! If you are not interested in hooking up with him, please subscribe to his YouTube channel for more nutty episodes!
On May 9, 2020, Ray and Danny added a new episode.
Maybe you have seen those ridiculous videos with beautiful women talking seductively into microphones trying to make crunchy noises, annoying distractions, crackles or crisps sound soothing and sexy. Come on, if you are that desperate to get turned on, maybe you should tune into the sounds of your neighbor's sprinkler or the white noise of your TV after hours.
Episode 4 was dedicated to the weird phenomena of ASMR. Look around your house for items that make strange noises, and you too can become an erotic star. Yup, it's bizarre! Check it out, as the guys interpret ASMR in their own unique way. These guys don't mind being the BUTT of the joke. Listen into this episode and never think of ASMR the same way. Subscribe to the Squirrel Nuts' series!
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 24, 2020
And now for the latest episode (trumpet please)......inspired by true events!
Episode 5 took a little longer to produce, but you will notice a major improvement in the animation. Probably due to our creative team being shut in their houses due to Covid. You will notice that is the theme of this show, as the guys poke fun of how humans have no grasp of reality. Stores are still limiting their toilet supplies; it seems being stuck in the house means people eat more, and of course that means more comic relief from Squirrel Nuts.
Oh, please
remember leaves are for squirrels. However, there are plenty of nuts in
the world if you haven't figured that out yet. Speaking of which, see
you next time, as the guys get take on election season.
Here's the rundown. Time to catch up if you missed one!
Episode 1: What's up with smart phones?
Episode 2: let go of my nuts
Episode 3: Where is love?
Episode 4: Honey Poo ASMR
Episode 5: Toilet Paper Wars
As a new feature, stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes podcast with Ray and Danny!
